Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On February 21st 2009 the 4th Up-to-date in Nephrology, an ISN COMGAN and ERA-EDTA CME course, also supported by Serbian Medical Society – Nephrology WP and Serbian Society of Nephrology, will be held in Belgrade, Serbia. This one-day continuous medical education course was held in 2000, 2002 and 2004 as Update in Nephrology. These courses were successful, well attended and highly rated from both invited speakers and attendees. Therefore, it is not surprise that lot of CME courses acquired phrase "Update in...", including 20 hours "Update in Nephrology", CME course in English that will be held during upcoming WCN ERA-EDTA Congress in Milan, May 2009.
The upcoming Course has been deliberately renamed to Up-to-Date in Nephrology with clear intention to make another step further: both to bring up the latest achievements in clinical nephrology to the Serbian and Regional nephrologists and to open the new exciting avenues of translational nephrology and tie of cutting edge science with clinical practice.
The course will follow the scientific guidelines and will be compatible with some topics of upcoming WCN ERA-EDTA Congress, Milan, May 2009. Actually, it will be held at the eve of such a great event. Therefore it is an ideal and quite convenient opportunity for young nephrologists and those who will not attend WCN ERA-EDTA Congress in Milan, to meet really outstanding faculty and get up-to-date with all the aspects of the major topic: Ischemia - reperfusion injury in kidney diseases, divided in two sessions: Ischemia - reperfusion and Acute kidney injury and Ischemia - reperfusion, renovascular hypertension and activation of renin - angiotensin - aldosteron system. Participants of the 4th Belgrade Up-to-Date in Nephrology CME course will be awarded by six CME credit hours granted by EACCME.
It is also a good opportunity to revisit, spend some time and enjoy Belgrade, the fast growing and expanding economical, business, scientific, cultural, fashion and sports center, probably the most charming city in South Eastern Europe.
